Luthi starts from Zero in Misano

The first free practice of the Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini went different than expected for Tom Luthi and the Interwetten Moriwaki Moto2 Team. The changes they made with the geometry of the bike this afternoon went in the wrong direction and did not help Luthi at all. He lost a lot of time because of this setting change and was not able to catch up to the other competitors. But the first free practice is a session where you can test such things and there is still enough time to change the direction. Tomorrow the team will go back to the set up of Indianapolis and it will hopefully go better then. Luthi finished the first free practice in Misano on 27th position.

Tom Luthi, 27 -- 1'41.799:

"We changed something on the geometry of the bike and went back to Zero as we are still looking for rear-grip. Unfortunately it did not work at all, especially not in the high-speed corner 10. We lost a lot of time because of that and it didn't help us at all. Now we will go back to the settings from Indianapolis and then it will work again."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:

"There are settings that throw you back to the end when you try them. We tried something that could have been the perfect way or like with us the wrong direction. It didn't help us. We also have a disadvantage regarding testing on this track and then we have to use the first free practice to try such things. Tomorrow we will change direction again and it will work."
