After yesterday and this morning's good performance, in this afternoon's qualifying Mattia Pasini and Simone Corsi didn't manage to exploit their soft tyres, a problem that prevented them going better than 25th and 26th position respectively, with a gap between each other of just one-thousandth of a second. Times are however still very competitive and the race pace that they found today gives them hope for tomorrow. A seventh row grid slot is not an easy start, but the fact that this is their home race is an added stimulus!

Mattia Pasini:

"Qualifying was not as good as I expected, but we made some steps forward. The work we did yesterday was positive and at the beginning of the session I managed to make some good runs. I suffered more troubles with soft tyres, as they did not behave as I expected, I found some difficulties in finding the right rhythm and together with the traffic on track I couldn't end the session with a good grid position. Tomorrow we will have an intense race, I'll have to attack from the very beginning and gain as many positions as possible in the early laps!"

Simone Corsi:

"This morning we found a good set-up, capitalizing on the good job we did yesterday. In qualifying, instead, we suffered, I immediately found traffic on the track which made me nervous and I couldn't find the right way to interpret either the bike or the correct lines on the track. However, we have a good race pace and while the seventh row doesn't help, Mugello is a long track thus leaving some wide room for improvements! I am determined to make a good start and regain as many positions as possible in the early laps."
