Estoril -- Portugal, September 6: The traffic encountered on the final part of the Estoril circuit posed problems for Roberto Rolfo. The Fortuna Honda rider could not improve on his provisional qualifying lap time in respect to the first day's qualifying. Rolfo will now start the race from the second row of the starting grid but he doesn't think this will cause him problems for the Portuguese race.
Rolfo is satisfied with the way practice has gone at Estoril, and if that is true and e doesn't finish in the position he feels he can he is, in general, satisfied with the machine set up. He just has one small change to make to the chassis settings in tomorrow's warup session. If the change is successful he will be truly confident going into the race.
In respect to the first day of practice the Fortuna Honda team have experimented and improved and Rolfo now feels he is in a position to fight for a race victory in Estoril.
"The work we have done here has been good even if the grid classification does not reflect this, it's not because we did not achieve our objective in the heavy traffic. On my fastest laps I was faster over the first two intermediate time sections but on the second two sections it was impossible to improve due to traffic. This has be a real hindrance but this does not worry me as I know I can improve in the race," asserted the Fortuna Honda rider.
"We have improved the machine very much, even the chassis - in addition to the engine, and I can feel this in my riding. I feel very comfortable in the extraordinary circumstances that prevented me from improving my grid position during final qualifying. I don't think starting from the second row will be an inconvenience." Explained convinced Roberto Rolfo.
"Tomorrow we will improve the chassis a little. I think the small modification will fulfil all our set up objectives, because it's nothing to worry me very much. It will improve the handling a little bit on the more sinuous parts of the circuit." Concluded the rider from Altadis.
