Akiyoshi also faster in qualifying

Kousuke Akiyoshi, the Honda test rider, who replaces the injured Hiroshi Aoyama at the Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team for Assen and now here in Barcelona, finished the qualifying for the Gran Premi de Catalunya today again in front of his test rider compatriot Wataru Yoshikawa, who is replacing the injured Valentino Rossi at the Fiat Yamaha Team. The target of Akiyoshi was to beat his colleague in every session and the 35 years old Japanese met the target so far. After the team changes some settings during today he is satisfied with the result and thinks that the changes went in the right direction and Akiyoshi is confident to hit his target again in tomorrow's race.

Kousuke Akiyoshi, 16 -- 1'45.577:

"We tried three different set up in qualifying today and I had more grip straight away, maybe a bit too much. The lap times could have been a bit better and I am not so satisfied with that, but I think the direction we went today was right."

Daniel M. Epp, Team Manager:

"In Assen Kousuke was last. Now as his test rider colleague is in the game as well he has more motivation and finished also the qualifying in front of him. I hope it will continue like this also in the race."
