CANEPA READY FOR PHILLIP ISLAND DEBUT. KALLIO LOOKING FOR REVENGE

It will be the last Grand Prix of the season where Niccolo Canepa, Pramac Racing rider, will have to start from zero as in the last two circuits included in the MotoGP 2009 calendar, Sepang and Valencia, he has already ridden last year during winter tests. The Genovese rookie will have to learn the best lines of the Phillip Island circuit to follow in the quickest time possible. The circuit, which measures 4448 meters, is situated about 150km south of Melbourne. It gives to the riders and the fans a unique layout mixed with a unforgettable panoramic view due to the closeness to the pacific ocean. Mika Kallio, after the unlucky slip during the Grand Prix of Portugal, will look for revenge on a track that in the past, in the lower classes, has accomplished some satisfactions: last year the Finnish rider has concluded in third position in 250cc while in 2006, in the 125cc category, he concluded with the second position.

Fabiano Sterlacchini - Pramac Racing Technical Director

"We arrive in Australia all pumped up notwithstanding in the last race in Portugal we were expecting much better results from our riders. Mika has unluckily slipped while he was in sixth position, while Niccolo couldn't find the right rhythm at the beginning losing too much time. It will be a hard race here for Niccolo as it is his first time on this track and it is not one of the easiest lay out to learn in only one racing weekend. Also the weather is unpredictable here: for what we can see from the weather forecast we will not find the same asphalt condition in every session. On the other side we expect a good result from Mika: we have a lot of trust in him and we know what he can do with our Ducati Desmosedici GP9 Sat. This last part of the season it has to be the starting point for next year."

Mika Kallio - Pramac Racing rider

"On this track I have obtained good results in the past. The last one last season when I concluded in third position in 250cc. It is a technical circuit but also very fast with few points of reference. I always found my self very well on it and I hope I will be able to do the same also in the top class. All season long we have been between the fastest riders but I didn't manage to conquer the points I deserved. I miss at least two top six final positions that I hope to be able to conquer in these last three final races."

Niccolo Canepa - Pramac Racing rider

"New track, it will be difficult, but never say never. From what I have seen on television it is one of the most fascinating tracks in the MotoGP calendar. It will be really emotional ride here my firsts laps on my Ducati. I will give all I have to obtain a positive result for the Team and my technicians who have supported me always at the best notwithstanding in the last races I didn't conquer satisfying results. I hope to conclude in the best way this season also for them."
