DE PUNIET AND LCR SQUAD FLY TO THE ISLAND

LCR Honda MotoGP team and Randy de Puniet will undertake the longest, but one of the more enjoyable, flyaway trips of the season with this week's journey to Australia. The South Pacific visit, for the Australian GP at the seaside Phillip Island circuit, is the sixteenth round of the season after Motegi GP last week which saw Rossi winning the crown of the premier class.

The 4.448 km Phillip Island circuit is a huge favourite amongst riders, including Randy, with its super-fast average speed of 175 kph and challenging layout of sweeping curves and long, downhill straight. The Frenchman is looking forward to riding here aboard his Michelin-shod Honda RC212V even though the weather conditions could be bad for the whole week end.

De Puniet: "I like this track: it's one of my favourites! It's very technical and exciting and is located in a very nice place. The unique problem here is the weather. We usually race in the wet with strong wind and cold temperatures. Anyway we have to be prepared for every condition so we will proceed with our set up job tomorrow including the tyres testing. My wrist is stable: we will see how the things go in tomorrow first session".
