MotoGP team Aprilia Racing Team Gresini has confirmed that Stefan Bradl will join the squad after his recent split from Forward Racing.
Bradl, 25, will partner Alvaro Bautista for the remaining nine events on an Aprilia RS-GP.
He will join the team from the Indianapolis Grand Prix next weekend, having been backed for the ride by Aprilia superbike star Max Biagi.
Bradl missed his home German GP due to a fractured scaphoid in his right wrist after crashing at Assen, but will be fit for Indy.
He was officially released from his Forward Racing contract on Friday after the team announced that it would be forced to skip next weekend’s Indianapolis round following team boss Giovanni Cuzari’s arrest.
The German replaces Michael Laverty, who himself had stepped in to ride in the German GP after the team had parted ways with Marco Melandri.
