The MotoGP championship and its protagonists are now gearing up to face the final round of the 2013 season, which as usual takes place at the 'Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo'.
The circuit, inaugurated in 1999 with a Grand Prix race, is located in the village of Cheste approximately 30km from the city of Valencia, and was built in such a way that 65,000 spectators, the grandstand capacity, can follow the entire circuit thanks to the stadium-like layout and the track’s particular configuration. The circuit is quite small, measuring 4.005 kilometers (2.489 miles) and has five turns to the right, eight to the left and an 876 metre long straight (0.544 miles).
After a short break in which he was able to recover the physical resources spent during the challenging Far East trip, Andrea Iannone is now ready to continue with the progress made in this latter part of the season, which has not been without its fair share of hitches, and to start a new page of his career in the subsequent three days of post-race testing.
Andrea Iannone – Energy T.I. Pramac Racing Team: “This is the last race of the year , and I can say that I am not very satisfied about how the championship went because before moving up to the MotoGP class I came to the races with the aim of scoring good results. I knew I was fast and I could play the game every time, but unfortunately this year it was not the same. I’ve improved and I’ve learnt but I hoped to do better.
I feel that I can’t express my full potential and can’t follow my instinct the way I'd like to, sometimes I think too much about how to ride and I’m not natural. I also suffered a lot of injuries that has added to all the rest . What I’d like is to find the competitive spirit I’ve always had, to come to the races knowing that I can fight with the best riders.
I'm glad that after this race Gigi Dall'Igna will arrive and we will also start working for next year during the tests. Even though I'm not really satisfied, in the last few races we’ve seen that I can be fast and stay together with Nicky and Dovi. I’ll do my best again here to try and find the feeling of the last few weekends and hope nothing unexpected happens.”
