Damp conditions hamper first day of practice at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli

While some riders like Ducati’s Valentino Rossi took to the track this afternoon on his last outing at the Misano circuit on the famous Bologna Red, others like championship leader Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing) and Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) both remained in their garages. Waving at the fans however was all Rossi managed after rain spots prompted him to re-enter the pits before even completing one lap. The rest of the field remained in the garage and face a very busy day in Free Practice 3 and Qualifying to take place and the weather forecast is for better weather, which will be of great relief to the Italian fans. Ducati riders Nicky Hayden (Ducati Racing) and Hector Barbera (Pramac) both return from injury this weekend.
