Yuki Takahashi completes the first day of testing in Indianapolis

The second day of testing for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis for the 250cc class was held this morning with drying conditions. Despite this, Yuki Takahashi, after the good performance with the rain, used what he'd learned from yesterday to good effect, as the team tried to identify the best technical configuration to be used in qualifying later this afternoon. Despite the provisional standings, which sees the JiR Team Scot rider in 12th position, the morale of the team is positive. Yuki is confident they can improve on free practice, and feels ready if the race were to be hit by rain.

Gianni Berti - Technical Coordinator, JiR Team Scot

"Compared to yesterday the weather conditions have changed and the work of development in the dry must be done with a day less in hand! We're working hard to assess the best technical package to be used in qualifying and the race and our position in free practice does not bother us because I think we have some room for improvement."

"It was difficult to run well, because the climatic conditions have changed completely. The grip on the asphalt is now slippery, while yesterday - despite the rain - I found it good. Along the track there are many bumps and the old track seems more slippery than the new - the complete opposite of yesterday! We are evaluating other solutions of tyres to be used in the afternoon, for qualifying, and even the settings of the suspension, but we know the competition will make a step up also. In case of a race in the wet I feel quite ready. For the dry I have to wait for the completion of qualifying today to really know."

Yutaka Hirano - Chief Technical JiR Team Scot

"The work in the pits focused on the development of suspension and in the afternoon we will try other tyres to define our configuration for the race. We are well prepared and we have no particular difficulties, so I feel we will have to make only small adjustments to make improvements."
