A great 9th position for Lorenzo Savadori at Mugello

During the fifth round of the MotoGP Road Racing World Championship that was held on the very fast Mugello circuit, Lorenzo Savadori, rider of the Fontana Racing Team with a 125cc RSA Aprilia, was successful in meeting the goal he set himself of ending in the first ten riders, with a fantastic 9th position. He made a great race as he started from the 20th place on the starting grid. From the 17th position in the first lap, he managed to get back many positions until the ninth one, fighting with another fast rider. Not only he obtained his first points in the World Championship, seven precious points, but Lorenzo Savadori also managed to finish in the Top Ten, improving his fastest lap made in the free practice, when he even was seventh. In short, the young Italian rider didn't look out of place at all in front of his public and the team really was happy about his performance. Now the goal is to go on like this, and next appointment is on June 14th in Spain, on the Catalunya circuit.

Lorenzo Savadori: "I'm very happy, I've been expecting to make a result like this from a long time. The modifications that were made on the motorcycle have been very positive and the team really worked in a good way. I'm happy to have obtained my first points in the World Championship and to have finished the race as first of the Italian riders. I also understood that, starting from some line ahead, I could easily stay with the first ten riders. Unfortunately I made it wrong during the qualifying practice, I was seventh in the morning and then, for some reason, I didn't managed to be as incisive as in the free practice. I can't wait to be at the Catalunya Grand Prix, to show that this wasn't only the result of my home Grand Prix, but only the beginning. I would like to thank the whole team which is one of the best in the World Championship, all my sponsors and who follows me at the races, Roby, Manuel and my dad. It would be great if, thanks to this result, some new sponsors could arrive to support me and the team".
