Indianapolis, IN NAMARS Regional MidgetCar Series competition was domination again this week by the Esslinger powered Drinan MidgetCar of Scott Thoman during "Thursday Night Lightning" competition at the Indianapolis Speedrome. The eighteen your old Kenyon MidgetCar Series graduate led all fifty laps from the pole thwarting all challenges from the likes of Mel Kenyon, new Series points leader Sondi Eden, Adam Nuetzel, and AJ Felker. Kenyon's second place run ended early with mechanicals, while Nuetzel, Felker, Eden, and Dave Fuhrman filled out the top five. Thoman's second win of the season was particularly impressive considering his dominant run was on the same exact set of American Race Tires that carried him to his first win last week!

Defending Kenyon MidgetCar Series champion Brian Clauson finally ended his streak of second place finishes to win his first feature event of the year over hard charging Derek Bischak, points leader Jamie Williams, Josh Clemons, and Naples, Florida resident Kyle Nicolas. Twelve year old Brent Beauchamp still has command of the Rookie of the Year battle, although Chicago resident AJ Morgan and Alex Gamber were able to close the gap as Beauchamp was forced to end his run early with set-up issues.

Both Series return to competition again next week at Indy's eastside speedplant for the Ikon Office Solutions 100, while the Championship MidgetCar Series returns to the dirt this Saturday at northern Illinois' Pecatonica Motor Speedway for another co-sanctioned event with the Wisconsin based Badger MidgetCar Series.
