Ladies of the Chili Bowl Ready to Dash for Cash in Thursday Qualifier

TULSA, Okla. (December 24, 2004) -- Even more spice has been added to the upcoming 19th Annual O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, to be held at Tulsa Expo Raceway January 5-8, 2005, as the four lady drivers entered in the event will square off in a special Dash for Cash in Thursday night's Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores Thursday Night Thunder qualifying event.

Pro Lube Center of Mustang, OK, located at 116 W. State Highway 152, will sponsor the $1,000 match race featuring the Reading, PA, sister duo of Tracy Miller and Michele Miller along with Guthrie, Oklahoma's Michelle Decker and Shannon McQueen of Bakersfield, CA.

The four lady racers will take to the Tulsa Expo Raceway quarter-mile clay oval for the Ladies of the Chili Bowl Dash for Cash following Thursday evening's heat races.

The Miller sisters will both be making their second consecutive Chili Bowl appearance, while Decker and McQueen take to the Chili Bowl for the first time.

In her second full season of Midget racing, Michele Miller raced to a fourth place finish in 2004 ARDC points, matching the ranking Tracy Miller earned in 2003. Both will pilot Don Ott-powered Stealths out of their father's (Mike Miller) stable of entries with sponsorship from Ray's Yamaha and Victory Motorcycles.

Decker has been a standout in the Sprint Car divisions at Oklahoma City's State Fair Speedway the past several seasons, narrowly missing the two-barrel carbureted Champ Sprint Car title in 2003. In 2004, Decker competed in both the Champ Sprint and injected Super Sprint classes at State Fair Speedway, earning top ten rankings in both classes with a Super Sprint feature win along the way. Decker joins forces with Chris Walker's California-based Esslinger-powered Bay Muffler/TP2 No. 10w Stealth team for this year's Chili Bowl.

Graduating from the micro ranks, McQueen's first full season of Midget competition resulted in a top ten ranking in USAC Western States Midget points in 2004. McQueen will be aboard the Esslinger-powered TCR Chassis/Ruth Engineering No. 7 machine for her first Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.

The Ladies of the Chili Bowl Dash for Cash will round out a full Thursday night of qualifying action that will include NASCAR stars Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne along with other top shoes such as Tracy Hines, Josh Wise, Scott Hatton, Danny Stratton, Tyler Walker, Kraig Kinser, Gary Wright and Australian Adam Clarke.

A limited number of tickets for Wednesday and Thursday night's qualifying action remain, with only pit passes available for Friday's qualifier and Saturday's finale. Four-night passes to the Pit Stop Caf0x00e9, affixed to the east end of the Tulsa Expo Center, are also available for $104.
