Meyers Heading to Tulsa, Okla. for 23rd Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals
January 11, 2009, 2008 (Clovis, CA) - Jason Meyers will be returning to Tulsa, Okla. for the running of the 23rd Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals January 13-17 2009. This will mark the 4th attempt for Meyers to capture the coveted Golden Driller trophy.
Meyers' maiden trip to the Chili Bowl was in 2003 aboard the Roy and Dallen McKenney machine, finishing 3rd on his preliminary night and making an impressive run to sixth place in the main event. His run would earn him the Chili Bowl Rookie of the Year.
In 2005 Meyers drove for Team Maxim Racing, where he would transfer through the C-Main to the B-Main, but would not make it any farther.
2008 would mark an exciting ride for Meyers when NASCAR driver Ryan Newman fell victim to scheduling conflicts which paved the way for Meyers to earn the driver's seat aboard the Corey Tucker Racing (CTR) no. 39. Meyers would transfer through the E-main to the D-main where he would finish 7th.
Now in 2009 Meyers will return to Tulsa for redemption aboard the CTR entry, "I am looking forward to working with CTR again this season. They have built a fleet of beautiful race cars for the 2009 campaign and I feel honored to have the opportunity to pilot one of them. Joe Gaerte has built us a brand new motor too, that should be awesome."
