O'Reilly Chili Bowl Nationals Qualifying Nights Unveiled!
TULSA, Okla. (December 23, 2004) -- As eagerly anticipated by race fans across the nation as that neatly wrapped gift under the tree, the list of drivers according to qualifying night for the upcoming 19th Annual O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, to be held at the Tulsa Expo Raceway on January 5-8, 2005, has been released and is available at www.chilibowl.com.
The current entry count for the prestigious four-night event has climbed to 237, with drivers from 24 different states as well as Australia and New Zealand already entered. Hundreds of feature wins and more than 25 track or series titles are represented among the talent laden field.
Wednesday's Creek Nation Casino Qualifying Showdown will truly be a showdown with top contenders including 2004 Chili Bowl hard charger J.J. Yeley, World of Outlaws stars Danny Lasoski and Jason Meyers, 2004 USAC Sprint Car champion and former Chili Bowl winner Jay Drake, two-time Chili Bowl champ Dan Boorse, 2004 USAC Midget king Bobby East, midget hotshoe Davey Ray and wingless sprint aces Damion Gardner and Jon Stanbrough.
The Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores Thursday Night Thunder at the Bowl Qualifier is headlined by NASCAR Nextel Cup stars Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne, with other top contenders including NASCAR Craftsman Truck competitor Tracy Hines, Badger Midget champion Scott Hatton, World of Outlaws racer Kraig Kinser, Josh Wise, Tyler Walker, ASCS champion Gary Wright, ARDC kingpin Ray Bull, USAC Western States champion Johnny Rodriguez and Australian champion Adam Clarke.
Friday night's third and final qualifying event features two-time and defending race winner Cory Kruseman along with 19-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser, USAC ace Dave Darland, New Zealand champion Michael Pickens, Jimmy Sills, P.J. Jones, Aaron Fike, Robby Flock, Jerry Coons, Jr. and DIRT Modified star Brett Hearn among others.
Each qualifying night consists of a full program of racing, including heat races, twin "C" Features, twin "B" Features and an "A" Feature. Approximately 80 cars will be in competition on each qualifying night.
The top four finishers from each qualifying night will be locked into Saturday night's O'Reilly Chili Bowl Nationals 50-lap main event, with the balance of Saturday night's feature lineups determined according to each driver's qualifying night results.
A limited number of tickets for Wednesday and Thursday night's qualifying action remain, with only pit passes available for Friday's qualifier and Saturday's finale.
