Chili Bowl Entry Update -- December 16
TULSA, Okla. (December 16, 2005) -- The entries just keep rolling in for the 20th Annual O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, which is slated for January 11-14, 2006, at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, with the entry count now up to 269.
Among the latest entries is two-time and reigning American Sprint Car Series national champion Gary Wright of Hooks, TX. Wright, who scored a total of 18 Sprint Car feature wins in 2005, earned National Driver of the Year honors for the third year in a row and sets his sight on a third consecutive Chili Bowl championship main event feature start.
Other entries received over the past two days include Arizona's Charles Davis, Jr., Indiana's Bill Rose, California's Cameron Beard, Oklahoma's Evan Sewell, Texas' Matt DeWitt, North Dakota's Trey Hausmann and New Mexico racers Robert and Mike Marfia.
Also, Missouri Sprint Car racer Eric Schrock has been named the driver of Al Murie's No. 11s entry.
The current 269 entries shatters last year's record 249 competitors.
The first edition of the Chili Bowl in 1987 attracted 52 entries and it was 1994 before more than 100 competitors invaded the Tulsa Expo Center for Chili Bowl competition.

Current Entries: 269 entries from 30 different states, surpassing the 2005 Chili Bowl record of 249 competitors.

Other top drivers already entered include Kasey Kahne, 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser, Danny Lasoski, Dave Darland, J.J. Yeley, All-Star champion Chad Kemenah, ASCS champion Gary Wright, ARDC Midget champion Ray Bull, USAC and Sprint Bandits TNT champion Levi Jones, USAC Midget champion Josh Wise, Kraig Kinser, Kevin Swindell, Jason Leffler and Late Model aces Bart Hartman and Steve Francis.
Entries represent numerous racing disciplines, including NASCAR, winged and non-wing Sprint Cars, Midgets, Late Models and NHRA drag racing among others.
Trade Show: Always a popular attraction at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals is the Trade Show, which is open to the public each day (Wednesday through Saturday) free of charge. All variety of racing products, apparel and more is available.
Tickets: Tickets for the 20th Anniversary of the O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals were depleted in mid-October. Pit passes are available. Four-night pit pass vouchers are available by contacting the O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals ticket office at 918-838-3777.
