Lincoln Speedway books season opener for midgets

Abbottstown PA - The Ray's Yamaha 'Polaris' Victory ARDC Midget Series will open the 2004 season at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday May 1.

The change to the ARDC schedule comes days after the initial schedule release. The schedule continues to grow, as do the prospects for a competitive championship run.

The ARDC Midget contenders will participate in a Twin Twenty format at Lincoln Speedway. Drivers will run one feature with wings, and one feature wingless.

The ARDC Midget drivers have run at Lincoln Speedway in both formats in the past, creating some exciting open-wheel racing. This will be the sixth consecutive season opener at Lincoln Speedway for the American Racing Drivers Club Midget Series.

Two-time ARDC Champion Bryan Kobylarz took home the feature honors in 1999 and 2000. Four-time ARDC Driver's Champion Ray Bull claimed the honors in 2001 and 2003. Mother Nature won the race in 2002.

Special thanks to Bob Lieby, Don Lieby and Alan Krietzer for continuing the traditon by hosting the ARDC midgets season opener at Lincoln Speedway in 2004. The American Racing Drivers Club is proud to add Lincoln Speedway to their schedule and excited to start the season on a high note.

Race fans are invited to join the midgets at Lincoln Speedway as they kick off their 65th season of midget auto racing in Central Pennsylvania.

Drivers that are sure to grab the fans attention include ARDC Champion Ed Stimely Jr., former ARDC and USAC competitor Steve Buckwalter and the Reading racing sisters Michele and Tracy Miller.
