IT'S A B&B NIGHT FOR ARDC AT GRANDVIEW

Bechtelsville, PA - Steve Buckwalter grew up about 20 miles down the road from the Grandview Speedway. Even though he's never been a weekly competitor at the 3/8-mile oval, it's always been a dream of his to win a race there. On Sunday night, in the first of two wingless, 20-lap features, that dream became a reality for the Royersford, PA native.

Buckwalter took the lead from Steve Lenig at the halfway point, then held off ARDC Midget kingpin Ray Bull over the final six laps to secure the victory. The triumph was Buckwalter's second of the season in ARDC competition, as he and Bull continue their torrid battle for the top spot in the point standings.

Bull, from Bloomsburg, PA, came back to win the second feature in grand style. With Birdsboro's Mike Miller comfortably in front, Bull mounted a charge over the last few laps to get himself positioned for a shot at the victory. On the last trip around the banked, clay oval, Bull rode the high side in turns three and four. As Miller slid up the track just a bit exiting turn four, Bull blasted off the banking and shot to the low side. He won the drag race to the checkered flag by a few feet, beating Miller and collecting his second win of the 2005 season.

The teams of the American Racing Drivers Club will take next weekend off to celebrate the Fourth of July, then travel to the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY, on Saturday, July 9.
