Le Mans 24 Hours is being prepared at the Paul Ricard HTTT
In prevision of the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours scheduled on coming April 18th and 19th, the Paul Ricard HTTT has welcomed for the second day of this tests session, the teams preparing this much expected competition.
Today, the Jota Team with drivers Sam Hignett, Hiaruki Kurosawa et John Stack has joigned the three other teams already testing yesterday : Racing for Holland (Jan Lammers / Elton Julian), Pescarolo Sport (Soheil Ayari / Sebastien Loeb / Eric Helary) and Dome -- Jim Gainer (Roy Michigami / Juichi Wakisaka).
These teams belonging to the LMP1 category for le Mans, do appreciate the Paul Ricard HTTT's unique "Mistral" straight; perfect to work on the aerodynamic and engine set-ups, as it is the closest straight to the Hunaudière straight, available on a test track.
Yesterday and also today, the cars running on the 1A track solution (5,752 km) will have driven the complete 7 hours out of the 7 hours track opening time, as no incident at all occurred.
During these two days, the Pescarolo Sport Team will have had as main objective, to integrate Sebastien Loeb in the team and last but not least to allow him to discover a new type of car to him: the "Pescarolo C-60 Judd".
New in the team, but not on the Paul Ricard HTTT, Sebastien previously had the opportunity to discover the track during a special event organized by one of the main sponsors of Pescarolo Team, in October 2004. His knowledge of the track allowed him to concentrate on the car's discovery and understanding, cumulating over 90 laps in two days.
Taking advantage of a very consenscious job achieved on the cars and on the set-ups and after several test sessions on the Paul Ricard HTTT, the teams feel definitely ready to compete with their rivals at the coming Le Mans 24 Hours race.
