Team Modena Gain Le Mans Invitation
o ACO announce test day entry list
Team Modena have been invited by the ACO, organisers of the world-famous Le Mans 24-Hour race, to take part in the official test day for the event on June 3rd. The test day is the only opportunity to run on the full circuit prior to the actual race week and will be a key element in the team's preparation for the French race with their LM GT1 class Aston Martin DBR9.
"Everyone at Team Modena is really pleased to have received the ACO's invitation," says Team Principal Graham Schultz. "Any dealing we have ever had with the ACO has always been a positive experience and we are all now looking forward to June.
"We ran at Le Mans last year and are pleased and proud to be involved again. Our intention has always been to form a long-term relationship with the race and organisers."
The test day is held two weeks before the 24-Hour race itself, and 55 cars have been invited to test, the new number able to start the race after alterations to the Le Mans pit complex. Fourteen cars will contest the competitive LM GT1 category and Team Modena will be aiming to surpass their impressive 2006 performance of ninth overall and fourth in LM GT1.
First race of 2007 for the Team Modena Aston Martin DBR9 will be the Mobil 1 12-Hours of Sebring in Florida, on Saturday March 17th.
