EARLY END FOR TEAM BRUICHLADDICH RADICAL'S 24 HOUR RACE

The weather had been responsible for a very disjointed event with qualifying sessions being interrupted by sporadic rain. The weather was also a major factor in Team Bruichladdich Radical's early exit from the 2007 Le Mans 24 Hours after an incident just after the first hour of the race this afternoon.

Tim Greaves was at the wheel, having taken over from Stuart Moseley who started the race and took the Radical SR9 up to third in class. After 15 minutes Tim radioed in that it was raining on the back part of the circuit and a tyre change was scheduled. On his way back to the pits the car hit a greasy patch of track made worse by the rain and spun. The front left corner sustained the heaviest impact with the barrier.

Tim Greaves, team owner and driver "I was coming in slowly on slick tyres when the car switched ends on the first right hander into Porsche Curves. The GT cars were going by so I wasn't even going quickly. The same thing happened to the Creation car two corners ahead so it just shows how treacherous it can be out there. As expected the team is gutted and it's a shame we have to wait a whole year to try again."
