Seikel Motorsport enjoyed a positive end at the 73rd running of the famous Le Mans 24 hours race. A final 7th place in GT and 23rd overall was the verdict of a very difficult edition.
"It was very tough. Very high temperatures and a lot of incidents. We are very happy to have finished and I want to thank to the team for their tremendous work during all the Le Mans week. We had a few incidents like an accident in the evening or a clutch changing in the morning. We have preferred to not take the risk to withdrawn because of these, so we lost some time at the pits. Despite this, our drivers did a very good job, I am really pleased with our race and our result. Special thanks to Yokohama for the very good quality of the tyres they provided us during the week. We had no puncture at all during the race, which is quite rare here at Le Mans." said Peter Seikel.
Philip Collin, David Shep and Horst Felbermayr drove the #83 Seikel Porsche on the very long La Sarthe circuit, with air temperatures rising as high as 35C.
"This was Horst Felbermayr's first experience on this circuit. The Austrian impressed the team with his constancy and physical endurance." added Peter Seikel.
