2003 Le Mans - LM GT class after five hours
The #93 Alex Job Racing/Petersen Motorsports Porsche has regained the GT lead at the five-hour mark after losing it for 75 minutes to the #81 The Racer's Group Porsche.
The leading #81 The Racer's Group Porsche has come into the pits just before the five hour mark with a slipping clutch that needs replacing - at least a 30-minute job. A broken shifter on the former leading #93 Alex Job Racing/Petersen Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 RS, with Emmanuel Collard on board, had given the lead to #81 The Racer's Group Porsche. The #77 Team Taisan Porsche of Yogo/Iida/Nishizawa is now second, and the #87Orbit Racing YES Porsche has moved into third, but has just come into the pits wi th a broken radiator, which will cause at least a 10-minute stop.
--Leo Hindery spun the #87 Orbit Porsche during the third hour, avoiding the barrier, but losing time. Also, a failing cool suit left the cable TV executive very hot by the end of his stint.
--The #78 PK Sport Porsche, which was running a strong third early in the race, lost 18 minutes in the pits as the result of a blown drive belt.
--Alex Job Racing reports they might have to do additional work of the shifter later in the race.
