Yesterday, OAK Racing created a noticeable thrill during the administrative and technical checkings of this 81st edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours when it came out with its three Morgan-Nissan LM P2s. Next to its two traditionnally black and pink decorated prototypes, the French team presented the new official racing version of the OAK Racing Costa Art Car, the Official Art Car of the 90th Anniversary of the Le Mans 24 Hours. This #45 LM P2, a true copy of the sculpture in total covering, displays, as if dressed, the circuit itself and road safety. Under bright sunshine this gorgeous livery left no one indifferent.
The three Morgan LM P2s, designed and built by Onroak Automotive, the Manufacturer Division of OAK Racing, are powered by Nissan and shod by Dunlop, OAK Racing’s five year running partner.
The other two Morgan LM P2s, #43 car of Swiss Team Morand Racing and #47 car of Chinese Team KCMG also participating in Le Mans 24 Hours, are coming to the Place de la République today for the administrative and technical checkings.
Sebastien Philippe, OAK Racing Team Principal : "The traditional adminitrative and technical checkings ceremony opened an extremely busy and emotional week for OAK Racing after a seven weeks’ interruption since the 6 Hours of Spa. We have carefully prepared ourselves for this mythical race, where points gained count double in the Championship and, we hope, will make us forget the difficulties we experienced in the last two editions !’
Next event is on Wednesday for the Qualifying Session of the 90th Anniversary of Le Mans.
After presenting the racing Art Car in the administrative and technical checkings, the actual work of Art by Fernando Costa will be revealed to the public in the famous Pontlieue bend presented as in old times by Le Mans City Council this Tuesday 18th of June from 18:00 onwards.
