LONDON - Johnny Mowlem returns to Le Mans for his 10th go at the world's most famous endurance race with world class credentials and a chance to win the one trophy missing from his showcase at home.

The two time British and current European Le Mans series GT champion has class victories and overall podiums in all of the worlds most prestigious endurance races, including the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, the Nurburgring 1000kms and the Petit Le Mans. Although Mowlem stood on the podium at the Le Mans 24 it has never been on the stop step.

He has competed in every class available at Le Mans and that level of experience is uncommon, even in a paddock as diverse and deep in talent as the one found at the Circuit de la Sarthe each year.

This year, Mowlem and his RAM Racing team-mates enter as 2013 European Le Mans Series GT championship. This is an experienced team with the confidence born of winning together.

"We all work together well and you have to have that at Le Mans," Mowlem noted. "At the end of a long race, when everyone is exhausted, you have to have faith in the guy next to you. We have that."

The 82nd running of the summer racing classic begins June 14. The LMGTE Am class has 19 entries.

Mowlem aimed his 2014 campaign at winning Le Mans. He asked team principal Dan Shufflebottom for the LMGTE Pro Am assignment, believing it gave the best chance to win. But it has swiftly become the most competitive class in the entire field with over double the entries of many of the other classes.

Mowlem will drive with Mark Patterson of the United States and Britain's Archie Hamilton.

"It's a tough race to win, obviously," said Mowlem. "You have to have the right equipment, which we do, and the right preparation, which we have. You have to have everything come together during the race and execute your plan.

Finally, you need some good old fashioned racing luck."

The race will be televised around the world. It can be found on Fox in the USA, and Eurosport and Motors TV across Europe and the United Kingdom. You can also follow the race live on the web at Radiolemans.com or 91.2FM.
