Le Mans racer Guy Smith is to drive the scintillating EXP Speed 8 in its Grand Prix circuit debut at this year's Silverstone Historic Festival - the largest historic racing event anywhere in the world (August 25, 26, 27).
This magnificent machine, which gave Bentley its first Le Mans podium finish in over seven decades, will run on all three days of the Festival, in a series of demonstration laps which are likely to bring the crowd to their feet. It will first be seen on the track at 6pm on the Saturday of the Festival, when it acts as a glorious curtain raiser for the mighty Group C cars as they begin their two-hour race into the twilight for the British Empire Trophy. The Bentley will run again as part of the official circuit opening ceremony from 1.00pm -1.15pm on the Sunday of the Festival, and at 3.50pm on the following day, bank holiday Monday.
Festival organiser, Roger Etcell, said, "It was fantastic to see a Bentley entry at Le Mans once more, and we're absolutely delighted that the EXP Speed 8 will make its Grand Prix circuit debut here at Silverstone. We believe that the Festival crowds will be thrilled to have the chance to see it in action."
The 12th Silverstone Historic Festival (August 25/26/27) will be the world's biggest-ever historic race meeting, with over 450 entries already confirmed, and cars and drivers, motorcycles and riders from around the world providing exciting grids for 18 spectacular races.
Scintillating on and off-track entertainment will combine to make a memorable three-day event at which motorsport fans and classic car and bike enthusiasts will simply be spoiled for choice.
