This year – 50 years after our legendary 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours – Ford returns to Le Mans with the all-new Ford GT race car in the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.

With drivers racing flat out for the full 24 hours, to say the Le Mans 24 Hours is extremely demanding, is something of an understatement.

Watch Ford Chip Ganassi Racing drivers Harry Tincknell and Stefan Mücke as they reveal the physical and mental pressures they will endure in the quest for victory. Performance Consultant Tom Clark and Ford’s Health Specialist at Le Mans Chris Williams explain the importance of ergonomics, nutrition and exercise – a fascinating insight into just what it takes to prepare for this epic test of man and machine.

Four Ford GT race cars will compete at Le Mans this year, each with a team of three drivers. While one driver is in the car, the one he has replaced will quickly grab a bite to eat and then try to grab some sleep. The driver who is up next will be preparing for their stint at the wheel.

About Harry Tincknell

Harry Tincknell is a British racing driver who moved from a successful career in single-seater racing to sportscars in 2014. On his debut at Le Mans he took the LMP2 class victory. He signed with UK-based arm of the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing earlier this year and currently holds second place in the World Endurance Cup for GT Drivers.

About Stefan Mücke

Stefan Mücke is a German racing driver who started his career in go-karts. He has raced at the Le Mans 24 Hours on nine occasions. In 2012 and 2013 he finished third in his class, and in 2013 was third overall in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
