Third consecutive Audi 1-2 victory at Magione
Superstars: Team Audi Sport Italia has clinched a 1-2 victory in the round of the Italian Superstars Touring Car Series at Magione for the third consecutive year. Like last year, Gianni Morbidelli won in front of his team-mate Giorgio Sanna. The 2006-winner started from pole-position with his Audi RS 4 but dropped behind Morbidelli on the very last lap of the race due to a gearbox problem.
"Final Countdown" for Le Mans 24 Hours
Le Mans: With the public Technical Scrutineering in Le Mans town centre, the "Final Countdown" for the Le Mans 24 Hours starts for Audi Sport Team Joest on Tuesday. Between 2:10 and 3:10 p.m., the three Audi R10 TDI prototypes will be presented to the Technical Scrutineers from the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The first qualifying begins on Wednesday at 7 p.m., the start of the race is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. Eurosport und Eurosport 2 will show the whole race "live" from Le Mans.
Public Viewing in Ingolstadt
Le Mans: "Public Viewing" is in place not only for the European Soccer Championship: Next weekend, the opening and closing stages of the Le Mans 24 Hours will be shown "live" on giant screens on the square in front of Ingolstadt's Town Hall. Star guest will be Audi "factory" driver Timo Scheider who will come to the DTM race at the Norisring two weeks later as Championship leader.
