The running order remained static over hours twelve to fourteen of the Le Mans 24 Hours with LMP1 cars covering the first six places, including Allan McNish leading in the #2 Audi and Marco Werner running second in the #1 Audi, and then LMGT1 covering the next seven places.

Several drivers put in fastest laps towards the end of their stints. Werner put in the fastest lap of the race in the #1 Audi towards the end of a stint only for McNish in the #2 Audi to go half a second faster a couple of laps later to bring the bar down to 3m 27.204s.

Joao Barbosa set a fastest personal lap for the #18 Rollcentre Racing Pescarolo-Judd 01, as did Jan Magnussen in the #63 Team Corvette Racing C6-R, David Brabham in the #009 Team Aston Martin Racing DBR9, Tomas Enge in the #007 Team Aston Martin Racing DBR9 and the #8 Team Peugeot Total 908 of Stephane Sarrazin.

The #15 Charouz Racing System Lola-Judd B07-17 had a twenty-minute pitstop due to collision damage and rejoined in seventh in the LMP1 class, and also the #55 Team Oreca Saleen S7R, running sixth in the LMGT1 class, was pushed back into garage and the engine cover removed for a long stop.
