A few days after the merger between the ALMS and Grand-Am was announced Pierre Fillon, the ACO President, had the pleasure of welcoming Don Panoz and Jim France to Le Mans last week.

It was both a courtesy and a working visit during which each person explained his vision of the future of endurance racing.

Thus, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the Grand-Am and the ALMS were able to air their views on the series on the North American continent, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Le Mans 24 Hours and the various technical aspects of the endurance series.

Several more meetings will follow this one. The different parties have agreed to see one another again in the near future, this time in the United States, to continue working together and developing this closely-knit partnership between the ACO and its American partner.
