ZACH SCHIFF RESIGNS WITH FIRSTKART.COM RACE TEAM
"Junior National Champion Will Jump To ICC"
Guelph, ON. -- January 10, 2006 -- First Kart North America and the FirstKart.com race team is pleased to announce the resigning of karting standout Zach Schiff. The Stars of Karting and World Karting Association (WKA) Manufactures Cup 80cc Junior National Champion will rejoin the FirstKart.com arrive and drive program in the '06 season as he makes the move to the competitive ICC division.
"We are excited to have Zach back on the team" stated FirstKart.com Team Principal Tony Ventresca. "He had an excellent season last year dominating the junior ranks and was upfront at every race. I am confident that he will be battling for wins in the senior classes and could likely be the strongest rookie in ICC next season."
Schiff rejoins the FirstKart.com race team looking to add to his '05 results where he came home with thirteen first place and four second place results on route to the Stars of Karting East and National Championship and the WKA Manufactures Cup Championship, both in the 80cc Junior category. Schiff also became the first junior driver to win two finals on the same day in Stars of Karting competition as he claimed the checkers in both the 80cc Junior and JICA finals in Shawano, WI. Schiff will look to add a couple more championships in 2006 as he will compete in the Florida Winter Tour (FWT), Stars of Karting East Championship and selected Stars West and WKA Manufactures Cup events.
Schiff has already competed in one ICC event at the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals in Las Vegas, NV last November fairing pretty well in his senior debut. Schiff managed a fifth place result in the Semi-Pro division and a 13th place finish in the ultra competitive Super-Pro class in both cases starting near the tail of the field.
FirstKart.com tuner Trevor Daley will make the switch from tuning on a JICA powered ride to a potent ICC machine as he will turn the wrenches on Schiff's SwedeTech TM powered First Kart. This won't be Daley's first experience on an ICC as in the past has tuned for James Hinchcliffe, Darin Marcus and Bobby Wilson providing those drivers with some great results.
