FIRSTKART.COM ENTERS WEEKEND WITH SPLIT SQUAD
"Stars of Karting and Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship"
Brownsburg, IN -- September 12, 2007 -- First Kart North America and First Kart USA along with the FirstKart.com race team enter the latter half of the season with two major events falling on the same weekend. National level team members will be competing in the final round of the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series West division while several of Canada's finest will fight for victory at the final round of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship in central Ontario.
Making the trek out to Moran Raceway in Beaumont, California will be re-crowned King of the Streets Champion Alan Rudolph. Rudolph enters the event after a strong podium result at the last Stars of Karting event in Shawano, Wisconsin and will use the Moran event to test different chassis combinations in preparations for the Stars of Karting finale being held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Also competing in senior level divisions will be Arizona's Andy Lee and Indiana's Zach Beard in Spec Racer. After a successful test last week, Beard will be looking to take a run at the west division crown and to set himself up for an assault on the national championship.
FirstKart.com's trio of Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) drivers will be back in action as Brendan Langlois, Spencer Pigot and Phil De La O will all be vying for race wins. Langlois has already claimed the East division title with Pigot taking his first Stars of Karting JICA victory back in early August. De La O turned some of the quickest laps of the weekend in Shawano and proved that he can run with the nation's best. Look for all three drivers to be at the front of the field.
Fresh off a solid sixth place result in Shawano, which included the fastest lap of the event, Cadet driver James Michael Sullivan will be back behind the wheel of his First Kart machine. Teaming with Hi-Rev's Marc Zartarian, Sullivan will look to claim his first Stars of Karting victory at the fast Moran circuit.
At the Goodwood Kartways facility in Stouffville, Ontario, Canada, junior sensation Kevin Montieth will look to secure two championships. Currently on the point in Junior Heavy and a few markers back in Rotax Junior, Montieth enters his home track event very confident. Joining Montieth in Rotax Junior will be Nicholas Pinti.
Eric Gerrits and Stefan Yasin will also pull double duty as they look to fight for victory in both Rotax Senior and DD2. Gerrits will be joined by Toronto's Chris Balestri and Kenny Holt in the Rotax Senior class.
The FirstKart.com race team is currently solidifying arrive and drive positions for the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals in Las Vegas, NV as well as the '08 edition of the Florida Winter Tour. Interested parties are asked to contact First kart North America or First Kart USA.
