Horstman Gold Cup GT Machine Grand National Challenge

10.29.2008 - Do you race in a series other than the Horstman Gold Cup? Think you're good? The last race of the Horstman Gold Cup, the GT Machine Grand National, is very near, Oct31st -- Nov 2nd. The Horstman Gold Cup Series is inviting champions and racers from any other series inside or outside of WKA to challenge the best 4-cycle drivers in North America.

In the past the Gold Cup series has turned out racers like Travis Firing who went on to race in the two cycle series and prove he had what it takes to be a winner there as well. We have also seen in the history of the Gold Cup, back in the '80s, when drivers like Mark Dismore Sr. came to run a Grand National and race against the best 4-cycle drivers in North America. Who will it be this time?

If you are a driver from another series and plan to race at the GT Machine Grand National, when you register please identify on your registration form what series you are from. This information will be given to the announcer so those drivers can be identified as the races are called.

We're looking forward to seeing you all at the GT Machine Grand National at the Lowe's Motor Speedway on Oct 31st - Nov 2nd. This is your opportunity to get one more race in this season and a chance to go down in the history books.

Halloween-- these Horstman Gold Cup drivers are not shaking in their helmets. They welcome all competitors!

Pace American Acquires Cargo Express

10.29.2008 - Pace American, Inc., the nation's premier manufacturer of enclosed motorsport, cargo, and specialty trailers, announces that it has officially completed its acquisition of Bristol, Indiana-based J&L Cargo Express.

"With this acquisition, we are continuing to further our ongoing strategy to strengthen and grow Pace American's industry leading market share position," says Pace American CEO Mitchell Bender. "Like our other brands, Cargo Express has long been recognized for its superior product quality, comprehensive selection, and exemplary customer service, so, needless to say, we're very pleased to welcome them to our family."

In addition to retaining its own independent brand identity, Cargo Express' existing dealer network and staff will remain unchanged. The brand will also continue to be managed by Cargo Express President and General Manager Lyle Miller to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted flow of product to the marketplace.

According to Miller, Pace American truly represented the best fit for Cargo Express. "Having watched my company grow over the past 15 years, it was personally important to both me and my family that we sold it to a purchaser that shared our values," he says. "We've respected Pace American as our largest competitor from the beginning and I am proud to know that they will carry on the quality and integrity that have been the foundation of Cargo Express' success."

Pace American President Jack Cordan ultimately points out the underlying significance of this deal: "Although our nation is preoccupied with the current economic conditions, Pace American is in a stronger financial position than ever. We've steadily built this company, which is privately owned, over the past two decades and have now completed our first acquisition. To me, this speaks volumes about our level of confidence in our products, people, and business plan for the future."

Pace American, Inc. is North America's preeminent manufacturer of enclosed motorsport, cargo, and specialty trailers. Headquartered in Middlebury, IN, with additional manufacturing facilities located in Fitzgerald and Eastman, GA, Lebanon, OR, McGregor, TX, and Hurricane, UT, Pace maintains an extensive network of over 450 authorized dealers across North America offering sales, service and parts. Pace also serves as the parent company of Optima Industries, LLC, a leading manufacturer of premium aluminum trailers, motorcoaches, and toterhomes.
