Riverhead Raceway Joins Speedway Pavement Schedule

11.18.2008 - World Karting is proud to announce the addition of Riverhead Raceway to their 2009 national schedule for the Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series. Located on Long Island, New York, the venerable speedway has long been host to some of the best open wheel talent in the country from the modified ranks. In the past few years, the speedway pavement series has also seen an increase in participation from that region of the country, due largely to many who have promoted a successful divisional program in that area.

Joining New Castle Motorsports Park next year provides speedway pavement series competitors two new national venues. Combining that with starting at the popular OCR Action Sports Park in North Carolina in April, moving the Chapel Hill Raceway event out of a challenging graduation month in June, and into July, as well as returning to the BeaveRun Motorsports Complex in September, site of a most successful season finale in 2008, the Riverhead finale in October places an exclamation point on what looks to be a very promising 2009 season.

Schedule Change For Gold Cup Series

11.18.2008 - With the 2009 racing season fast approaching, there has been a change to the national schedule for the Horstman Gold Cup Series. The season finale at the BeaveRun Motorsports Complex in Wampum, Pennsylvania, originally scheduled for the weekend of September 25-27, has been moved to October 2-4.

The season will kick off March 20-22 at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, with the traditional 4th of July weekend stop at the famed G and J Kartway in Camden, Ohio. The third event will be history in the making as the series makes it's first ever stop to the ultra modern New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana for a blockbuster doubleheader weekend with the Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series. Both series will run simultaneously at the multipurpose facility.
