Horstman Gold Drivers Prepare For Lowe's Grand Nationals -- Weekend Memberships Offered For Past WKA Members
10.16.2008 - One driver could be staring at a potential Triple Crown, while several other competitors look to lock up multiple championships as the Horstman Gold Cup Series rounds the final turn in it's sprint to the finish October 31- November 2 in the GT Machine Grand Nationals at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Heading the list is Sam Beasley. The young driver from Leroy, Ohio is poised to take four national titles if all goes well. Leading the Briggs Restricted Junior Lite, Medium, and Heavy classes, as well as the Briggs Restricted Junior Sportsman Medium division, Beasley will have to fend off the efforts of many top flight Junior drivers, including Kaytlyn Fauci, Matthew Darden, Harry Smith II, and Dakota Bell to name a few.
Also looking to lay claim to dual titles is Jacob Heavlow from Galena, Maryland in the Briggs Junior Sportsman 2 Lite and Heavy classes, as well as Connor Brown from Midlothian, Virginia in the Briggs Junior Sportsman 1 Lite and Heavy divisions. On the Senior side, veteran Gary Lawson from Mentor, Ohio is looking to sew up the Briggs Animal Super Heavy title, as well as take the inaugural championship in the World Formula Class.
And, as previously called out, past members of WKA dating back to the 2005 season are invited to compete at this year's Grand National event under a temporary event membership for $15. Here's the chance for drivers from all divisions to test their skills against the best 4-cycle sprint track drivers in the country.
As with all WKA Grand National events, the prestigious Grand National Eagle trophy and custom embroidered Grand National champion jacket are awarded to each class champion. So be prepared for an action-packed weekend as the fight for a Grand National title and Season Championships ensue.
Activities for the GT Machine Grand Nationals get underway with a full day of practice Friday October 31st, followed by two jammed packed days of the best 4 Cycle Sprint racing in the country.
