TAYLOR MIINCH PERFORMS WELL AT NATIONAL FINALS
"Pole, heat race wins and podium"

October 14, 2008 --Team Top Kart USA and Miinch Motorsports pilot Taylor Miinch scored the pole position and heat race wins this past weekend at the Snap-on Stars of Karting National Finals at the temporary course on the infield of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was Taylor's last North American event before traveling to the Rotax Max World Finals to be held at the La Conca International circuit in Muro, Leccese, Italy in late November.

After claiming the pole position with a solid 48.293 lap, Miinch would start all three heat races from inside the front row on the tricky temporary course. All three heat races would see the same result as Miinch took the lead at the drop of every green flag. Running fast and consistent race laps, the talented California pilot was only challenged in one heat race and managed to take all three heat race victories. With the strong results, Miinch retained the pole position for the start of both final events on Sunday.

Benefiting from the inside front row starting position and with Top Kart teammate Tyler Thomas on his bumper in third, Miinch would take the lead on the opening lap of both final events. Running with the lead drivers, the quartet pulled away from the rest of the field as they battled wheel to wheel for the win. Leading on several occasions, Miinch eventually garnered the third podium position to add to his series point total.

After taking the lead early in final two, Miinch looked to be the driver to beat as he progressively pulled away from his fellow competitors. Just past the half way mark disaster struck for Miinch as he lost all power and was forced to retire from the event.

"It was a disappointing way to end the season," stated Taylor after the event. "We were fast at almost every track but had some bad luck. We will be back next year stronger than ever to battle for the JICA championship."

Taylor would like to thank his current sponsors for a successful 2008 season to date: Grand Products, Top Kart, PKS Kart Supply, Douglas Wheel, Crystal Cleaners, Jon Del Construction, Charlie's Hub Caps, Image On Trak and Wrangler BBQ. An extra special thank you goes out to his mechanics Wesley Boswell and Josh Huff.
