De La O Motorsports Presents Stars of Karting Champs with Championship Rings

During Friday evening's awards ceremony, eight deserving drivers were awarded championship rings courtesy of De La O Motorsports. Joining the Snap-on Stars of Karting National Final awards weekend, De La O Motorsports purchased and presented championship rings to each and every divisional class champion of 2008. Presenting the rings was veteran karting standout Alan Rudolph and De La O Motorsports owner Phil De La O Sr.

Encrusted with multiple diamonds and etched with the division, series sponsor and title, champions were presented with their rings in front of a host of families and fellow competitors at the awards banquet in the Blackjack Room at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With a buffet style dinner and a host of door prizes, series participants enjoyed the evening dinner and bench racing.

"On behalf of myself and the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series, we would like to thank Phil De La O and De La O Motorsports for their generosity and support of the series," expressed Paul Zalud. "Phil did an incredible job with the design of this significant award that recognizes the achievements of our Series Champions and is something that can be proudly worn or displayed. We will look to continue the distribution of championship rings for years to come."

"We wanted to show our appreciation to Stars of Karting and our fellow competitors for the relationship building and personal achievements that will stay with these competitors for many years to come," explained De La O Motorsports Owner Phil De La O Sr.

Divisional championship rings were presented to Trent Hindman (Cadet East and West), Michael Vincec (ICC East and West), Phil De La O (JICA West), Tatiana Calderon (JICA East), Michael Hogg (TaG ICC East), Brian Eady (TaG ICC West), Victor Cabrera (TaG East) and Chris Scribner (TaG West). With an exciting weekend of competition, Michael Vincec, Trent Hindman, Brian Eady and Victor Cabrera were able to turn their divisional titles into national champions while Brendan Phinny scored enough points to claim the Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) title.

The 2008 Snap-on Stars of Karting Series is now complete and the focus will begin to shift to the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) All-Stars Karting Classic held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. PRI and 2009 series news will continue to stream into the media in the weeks to come.
