"Great start to 2007 national season"

Brownsburg, Indiana -- April 19, 2007 -- The FirstKart.com race team scored some very strong results at this past weekend's Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series Mazda Race of the Americas. Taking home two podium results was Canadian Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) pilot Brendan Langlois after starting deep in the field for both feature events.

FirstKart.com veteran driver Alan Rudolph entered the ultra competitive ICC division and came home with two top fifteen results after starting both finals in 20th. Rudolph had his work cut out for him in Final #2 as a first corner mishap sent him back to 32nd position by the end of the first lap. Rudolph worked hard and progressed forward throughout the event to salvage a strong 11th place finish.

Three members of the FirstKart.com race team entered the JICA class including Florida Winter Tour winners Brendan Langlois and Spencer Pigot. They were joined by rookie driver Phil De La O who performed very well for his first national level event. Langlois was one of the quickest drivers on the track and moved forward from his P14 starting position to claim both a second and third place result and unofficially sits second in the overall series point standings. Floridian Pigot had some tough struggles in Final #1 as carburetor issues moved him outside the top ten. Pigot rebounded in Final #2 with a strong run as he battled with the leaders turning some very quick lap times. The SunTrust junior driver crossed the strip with an impressive fourth place result.

Phoenix resident and JICA rookie Phil De La O had a very impressive run for his first event outside the state of Arizona. De La O made it into the A Main directly from the heat races and would start both finals in the 32nd position. Young Phil progressed throughout the entire weekend scoring a 20th place result in Final #1 and an excellent 14th place finish in Final #2. In Final #1, De La O had the third quickest lap time behind two eventual podium finishers.

Colorado Springs pilot James Michael Sullivan proved that he can race with the top dogs in the Snap-on Stars of Karting Cadet class. Sullivan was close to the top of the time sheets in Friday's practice sessions but a fuel issue in qualifying forced him from completing a lap. Sullivan worked hard through the heat races to transfer to the A Main claiming 24th and 32nd place results.

Florida Winter Tour and South West Regions Cup Spec Racer winner Zach Beard claimed a sixth place results in Sunday's first final. Looking to improve in the second final, Beard was running in the third position before an on track incident relegated him down the running order. With the speed to win, Beard will be a strong threat for victory in every race he enters. Illinois pilot Kristine Daggett started both finals in 36th position and improved steadily to come home with two top 25 results

The FirstKart.com race team will be out of racing action for a few weeks but will be hitting the test track in preparation for the first East coast event in the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series to be held at New Castle Motorsports Park in late May.
