Don Moormeister Leaves the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL

Seattle, WA (July 23, 2006) -- Don Moormeister, assistant scrutineer, and one of the most well respected people in karting's technical circles has stepped away from his duties with the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL.

Moormeister, who resides in Idaho and also works with several other racing series decided to give himself some breathing room from the crazy schedules and intense travel demands that his duties have put on him.

Moormeister had been with the series since its inception as a one-off event at the Las Vegas Karting Center in 2000.

Series technical director Scott Evans was disappointed to lose his colleague but understood the circumstances, "I appreciate the work ethic and passion that Don has for the sport. He will be missed on the Stars circuit. I wish him the best of luck in his endeavors."

Snap-on Stars series president Paul Zalud wanted to thank Moormeister for his years of hard work and excellent execution, "Don is a valuable asset to anyone he works with and I look forward to working with him again when time allows."

The next event for the series is at the immaculate USA International Raceway in Shawano, WI on August 4-6 where the Eastern Division will crown their champions.
