Rob Hogenmiller announced today, that he will be driving for Omega Kart USA division in the USA World Rotax Max Challenge. The agreement was reached in a meeting with Australian Omega Kart owner, Kym Pearce, and USA Omega Kart importer, Don Jones. As part of the agreement,
Hogenmiller will give an in-depth look from the drivers' perspective for National Kart News in a dedicated column following the RMC challenge. He will contest the USA World Rotax Max Challenge out of the Midwest region at Norway Speedway in Illinois, home of the USA Final, while teammate Don Jones will contest the RMC through the Championship Enduro Series. Both drivers will use a 2001 Omega TP13 Max chassis with the spec sealed Rotax 125cc power plant. Relatively new to karting, Hogenmiler, came out of the motocross scene and quickly found his way into 125 ShifterKart National scene in his third time aboard a kart in 1999. Hogenmiller said, "With running all of my regional challenge races at the same track as the USA Final Challenge and two years of Rotax Max development behind the Australian Team, I feel we have a real shot at Malaysia." Malaysia is the final destination for the top five drivers from each of the respective twenty-some countries that will partake in the 2nd World Rotax Max Challenge, new to USA this year. Hogenmiller continued,
"Having Don (Jones) as an owner and teammate is great. Knowing that he will be driving the karts and getting direct feedback from customers, I expect any small wrinkles will be worked out quickly." The team will be testing a long track belt drive Rotax kart in Charlotte, NC March 9-11 after the upcoming WKA Manufacturer Cup/Enduro Championship races.
