Michigan karter breaks into top ten

SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS - Michigan racer Kyle Lawrence broke into the top ten finishers in the ICC shifter kart class at the Matt-Con Services Nationals. The event held at the Trane Motor Speedway was the third of four races in the George Kugler Manufacturer's Cup Series Presented by Bridgestone.

"My tuner, Van Gilder, gave me a really good base set-up," explained Lawrence. "This was a much more technical course and the rain just made it much less forgiving than Jacksonville (FL). It rained all Friday while we were breaking in the engine. After three sessions we called it a day. The motor was too lean on Sunday but I still made progress."

Lawrence used his track time to adjust the kart and qualified 12th for Sunday's final. "I'm really pleased to finish in the top ten, especially for my new sponsor Invigor8"
