Jack Harvey came away from the latest round of the British Racing Drivers Club Stars of Tomorrow Kart Series still holding on to third place in the championship standings.

A fifth place result in the final was a strong finish for the Allens Group backed youngster, after the weather caused problems for him and the Fusion Motorsport team just before the start of the race.

Harvey had picked up good results in the heats and lined up fifth on the grid for the final. As the racers and crews waited on the grid for the start of the race heavy rain began to fall on the circuit.

The team was unable to alter the setup of the kart exactly how they would have liked, meaning that Jack had to battle both his rivals and the elements. A solid finish in fifth place, along with the good finishes in the heats was enough to keep him in the running for the title at the end of the season.

"We struggled a little bit this weekend," said Harvey. "The weather definitely didn't help us as we couldn't change the seat in the kart and that would have made the set-up better for the wet. We just didn't have the time before the start of the race. It just didn't go our way, unfortunately," he added.

The Bassingham based racer now has a four-week break before returning to top-flight competition at Shennington next month (July 24/25).
