"T2 TrackMAX" Rotax karts shine at Rock Island Grand Prix Debut

T2 RaceKarts customers set pole and fastest lap in first RIGP appearance

Rock Island, IL - In their first appearance at the Rock Island Grand Prix on September 2, T2 RaceKarts "TrackMax" entries impressed the field with their "out of the box" speed. Scott Barnes, of Devonshire, Bermuda, put his T2 RaceKarts prepped "TrackMax" on the pole of the 14-kart field with a 35.1 second lap before taking eighth place in the final tally following a poor start. Fellow Bermudan and teammate, Jason North, was able to log a third place result while both drivers went on to set the two fastest laps of the race. North's lap time of 34.6 seconds will stand as the RIGP's track record for the RotaxMax class.

"The kart was brilliant," said an elated North. "We barely touched the set-up all weekend. We will be back next year for another go at the win."

The overwhelming popularity of the new RotaxMax karting formula has not gone un-noticed and T2 RaceKarts has jumped into this hot new class head first with the unveiling of their new "T2TrackMax" entry. The "TrackMax" is a Rotax FR125 powered Trackmagic racing kart and includes all the bonuses a RotaxMax kart offers, including; electric start, water cooled engine, automatic clutch, limited warranty and a 50-hour service schedule. The "TrackMax" also boasts features that are unique to the Trackmagic chassis, such as Brembo brakes, and adjustable wheelbase.

"This was our first outing with the new karts," said Brian Kay, T2 RaceKarts President. "We are really excited about this new class and it's potential. These karts were literally fresh out of the prep shop when they hit the streets of Rock Island in front of the 30,000-plus spectators. The number of entries that we had here for the race is a clear indication of where the RotaxMax class is headed."
