Morad and Herder remain undefeated in Junior competition

SUTTON, ONTARIO -- Juniors normally highlight the Saturday schedule at the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship Presented by Toronto Star Wheels. For most of the day -- in Round 4 of the series held at Sutton this past weekend - that was the case, but the rains came late in the day. Three of the four Junior class finals were put off to Sunday morning. Canada Junior Light was the only final run, and it was Taylor Holdaway taking the win. On Sunday, in Formula Junior, Markham's Daniel Morad, took his fourth consecutive win, a feat matched by Pearce Herder in Canada Senior Heavy. Christophe Boisclair -- the current Canadian Rotax Max Jr. Champion -- took the win in Rotax Max Jr.

Formula Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Curtis Fox, Bradford Ontario. Formula Junior polesitter Curtis Fox was dealt a serious blow when he jumped the start of the pre-final -- which sent him to the back of the grid. From there, Fox put on the drive of the day to finish third, just 2.767 behind winner, Markham's Daniel Morad, and King City's Richard Boake.

Canada Junior Light -- Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Taylor Holdaway, Orillia, Ontario Holdaway hung on to win the pre-final over Bolton's Keenan Harris, and Maple's JonMichael Ostella. In the final, Ostella moved forward to take the win over Holdaway and Harris.

Canada Junior Heavy -- Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier, Pearce Herder, Stouffville, Ontario Herder continued his winning streak with a clean sweep of Canada Junior Heavy. Behind Herder in the pre-final were Richmond Hill's Michael Di Meo and Belfountain's Kenny Riedmann. Riedmann was also third in the final, but Markham's Evan Hayden was second.

RotaxMax Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Evan Hayden, Markham, Ontario Quebec's Christophe Boisclair came from third on the grid to win the pre-final. Behind him were Markham's Evan Hayden and Richmond Hill's Eric Barrett. In the final, first and third were the same, but Pearce Herder managed to finish second after being 10th in the pre-final.

World Formula Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Kevin Monteith, Stouffville, Ontario. Monteith was able to capitalize on his pole position to take a clean sweep of the pre-final and final. The win stopped Woodstock's William Keatings domination of the class so far this year. Keatings came second, and Lindsey Brown was third in both the pre-final and final.
