Vincec and Grist still riding perfect season in SRFKC
Vincec, Monteith, Grist, Timmers and Ostella take wins

HAMILTON, ONTARIO Mike Vincec and Garett Grist left Hamilton on Saturday, site of round two of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels with a perfect season still intact. Vincec took pole, prefinal and final win in Rotax DD2 Shifter, while Grist did the same in F1-K Cadet. Other winners on the day included Kevin Monteith in Canada Junior Heavy, after a good battle with Gary Klutt. Darryl Timmers won Canada Senior and David Ostella won F1-K Junior.

Rotax Max DD2 Shifter
Pfaff Fast Qualifier Mike Vincec

Mike Vincec won his second straight Pfaff Fast Qualifier award in DD2. He then went on to dominate the prefinal over Kyle Herder and Eric Gerrits. In the final, Vincec was once again the man to beat, and he won handily. Second went to Eric Gerrits and Jason France was third after starting from the back due to a mechanical problem in the pre-final.

Canada Junior Heavy
Pfaff Fast Qualifier Dylan Van Tienen

Dylan Van Tienen took his second Pfaff Fast Qualifier in a row in Canada Junior Heavy. Kevin Monteith led flag to flag in the prefinal, but he was hounded all the way by Van Tienen. Third was Michael Adams. In the final, Canada Junior Heavy drivers put on a very good show. Gary Klutt and Kevin Monteith broke away from the pack. Klutt had it set up for a last lap pass, and he made it stick to take the lead. He held the lead until the final corner, where he went wide, and Monteith was through for the win. Klutt was second, Jonathon Treadwell was third, some seven seconds back.

F1-K 60cc Cadet
Pfaff Fast Qualifier Garett Grist

Garett Grist took his second Pfaff Fast Qualifier in a row in F1-K Cadet. Grist checked out to a 4 second lead by lap 4, and was never caught. Artem Korolev and Vanessa Ostella followed him to the line. In the final, Garett Grist won by 15 seconds over Harrison White, Giovanni Pizzale Rhead and Kenneth O'Keefe. Second through fourth enjoyed a good battle all race long, but they were lucky it ended when it did. Artem Korolev, had a spin early on - when he was second - and went back to 13th. He then made his way back up to fifth over all, but another few laps, he could well have been on the podium.

Canada Senior
Pfaff Fast Qualifier Darryl Timmers

Timmers went wire to wire in the prefinal, something that is very hard to do in Canada Senior. Behind Timmers there was a battle between six drivers for second through seventh. Chris Holman emerged from the pack to finish second, and Evan Hayden third. De Heus and Di Leo were in the podium spots with just a lap to go, but they got shuffled back. In the final, Timmers once again led every lap on his way to victory. Evan Hayden was second, and Marco Di Leo third

F1-K Junior
Pfaff Fast Qualifier David Ostella

David Ostella took his second straight Pfaff Fast Qualifier in a row in F1-K Junior. In the prefinal, Ostella won by two seconds over Jeff May and Carter Woodward. In the final, it was once again all Ostella. May was once again second, and Vincent Rago was third.

The objective of the SRFKC is to help foster a professional environment for kart drivers; help create a positive attitude towards appearance, conduct and discipline; help foster the employment of the best practices for the safe and fair running of competitions; and help kart drivers to move up the racing ladder to automobile racing.
