CAMERON MOTORSPORTS MIKE VINCEC WINS SRFKC TRIPLE CROWN
"Championships in Formula Senior, Rotax Senior and DD2"
Hamilton, Ontario -- September 24, 2007 -- In what could be classified as a career year, Canadian pilot Mike Vincec added to his already professional looking race resume. The first three items that he added from the 2007 racing season include Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship (SRFKC) Formula Senior Champion, Rotax DD2 Champion and Rotax Senior Champion.
Vincec's season started way back in January when the Stouffville, Ontario resident traveled South to compete in the 2007 Florida Winter Tour (FWT). Though the series championship was the main goal, Vincec did achieve race wins and podiums as well as claiming the runner up position narrowly missing the series title.
The momentum that was gained during the FWT continued throughout the '07 racing season as Vincec tore up the SRFKC. Claiming poles, fast laps and victories at almost every event, Mike Vincec was a name that you were almost guaranteed to hear at the podium presentations.
Vincec also took his assault on the karting world to the national level. Competing in the ultra competitive ICC division at the Snap-on Stars of Karting Presented by IndyCar Series, the multi-time karting champion claimed the third position in the East coast title chase as well as a victory at USA International Raceway in Shawano, Wisconsin in early August.
"Mike had a great start to the season," stated Trevor Wickens, Cameron Motorsports Team Manager. "With the confidence that he gained early in 2007, there was no stopping him. He demonstrated great skills and abilities and was tremendous leader in the Cameron Motorsports squad."
As the season began to wind down, Vincec kept winning. At the Canadian National Championships, Mike Vincec was awarded an all expenses paid trip to the Rotax Grand Finals that will be held in Dubai in November. Vincec will travel to the United Arab Emirates wearing the colors of Cameron Motorsports in the hopes of bring Team Canada a Rotax World Championship.
The most recent award granted to Mike Vincec was an invitation to the Team Ultra 94 Evaluation Day. Vincec will join several other drivers in the hopes of being one of four selected to compete in the Bridgestone F2000 Racing Series in 2008. The Team Ultra 94 Evaluation Day takes place Thursday September 27, 2007.
