FIRSTKART.COM: SUPERNATS PREVIEW
"Team drivers looking for victories at prestigious event"
Brownsburg, IN -- November 12, 2007 -- First Kart North America and First Kart USA along with the FirstKart.com Race Team have their hopes set high as they prepare for the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals set to take place at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Coming off a solid season of regional and national level competition, the Firstkart.com Race Team will look to take the prize in several SuperNationals classes.
Competing in the ultra competitive SuperPro division will be veteran pilot Alan "Rudy" Rudolph. The Arizona resident won this season's Rock Island Grand Prix King of the Streets class and will look to once again fight for the top step on the podium. Rudy was extraordinary in the '06 SuperNationals working his way through the heat races before being involved in an opening lap incident and scoring a seventh place result on the way to the third quickest lap time of the event. Rudolph will look to utilize his temporary course experience in the hunt for the SuperPro title.
The majority of the FirstKart.com entries come in the TaG Senior division as a quartet of drivers will look to challenge for the victory. Indiana resident and TaG regular Zach Beard will be aboard his Adkins powered First Kart and will be joined by Intercontinental A (ICA) regular Derek Wagner. Beard has had several strong runs in national competition this year and will look to work with Wagner to get to the front of the pack.
Last year's TaG Senior runner-up Brendan Langlois will look to score this year's title. The current Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series East Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) champion will once again utilize the First Kart chassis as he looks to make it two-for-two for First Kart in TaG Senior following in the footsteps of last year's winner Daniel Morad. Langlois has had a tremendous season scoring a national level victory and several podiums and will look to cap of his year with a SuperNats crown.
Also competing in the TaG Senior division will be California pilot Robin Stonesifer and longtime tuner AJ Whisler. Stonesifer, who has been testing in the California region for the past few months will make her first trip to the SuperNats with victory in mind, and she hopes to beat up on the boys at this year's event. Whisler will trade in his wrenches for a helmet and take up driving duties this coming weekend in Las Vegas.
FirstKart.com will enter two drivers in the Rotax Senior division as Canadian Eric Gerrits and Idaho's Brett Smrz will look to take the title. Gerrits, who was the '05 Canadian National Champion in Rotax Senior will be looking to repeat that success at this year's edition of the event. Smrz, who lost a portion of his leg earlier in the year, will be back behind the wheel of a kart yet again after taking the checkers and attaining the course record for fastest lap time in another Sports Car Club of America F1600 event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
