Quad Racer Succumbs to Tulsa Shootout Injuries
TULSA, Okla. (December 31, 2005) -- Jenson Roberts of Claremore, OK, died after sustaining injuries in a Pro Quad heat race Friday morning at Tulsa Expo Raceway during the opening day of the 21st Annual Tulsa Shootout.
In the day's first Pro Quad heat race, Roberts and another rider tangled exiting turn four. Roberts collided with the wall and was knocked unconscious at approximately 11:30 a.m. Friday morning. Roberts was immediately transported to Tulsa's St. Francis Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries several hours later.
Roberts was an 18-year-old senior at Verdigris High School.
