Clarification on Dirt tire rule for Dumplin Valley Dirt national

09.02.2010 - As the 2010 season for the Briggs & Stratton Speedway Dirt season comes to a close Sept. 11 at Dumplin Valley Raceway in Kodak, Tennessee, WKA officials would like to clarify the tire rule, which has been in place all season. Three tire manufacturers elected to participate in the 2010 program: Vega, Firestone and Hoosier. While the tire rule relates specifically to the right sides, competitors are allowed to run any compound on the left side, even if it may not be one of the three brands mentioned above.

The question came about as a result of Dumplin Valley predominantly being a Burris Tire track. Competitors are welcomed to run the Burris brand on the left side for this event, or any other brand tire, as long as they are slicks. However, for the rights, they must comply with the current tire rule that is in place.

An announcement with regards to the 2011 tire program is expected by mid October, giving competitors the opportunity to make the appropriate arrangements for the 2011 edition of the Daytona Dirt World Championship Dec. 27-30 at Daytona International Speedway.
