WKA inks Vega as new Speedway Pavement Series title sponsor
02.09.2010 -- WKA is pleased to announce Vega Tires as the new title sponsor of the Speedway Pavement Series. The five-race tour will now be tagged the Vega Speedway Pavement Series, beginning with the Spring Nationals season opener April 23-25 at North Carolina's OCR Action Sports Park.
TS Racing President Tod Spaude commented, "We are happy to continue our support of the WKA national series with the title sponsorship of the Vega Speedway Pavement Series. We look forward to a successful partnership with WKA."
After Rage Karts respectfully bowed out as the Speedway Pavement title sponsor, WKA immediately found a worthy replacement in Vega Tires, of which the Florida-based TS Racing is the official U.S. importer. Vega Tires has been a backer of various WKA events and series for a number of years and now has increased its level of support as the title sponsor of the Pavement Series.
The Vega Speedway Pavement Series will travel to five tracks in five different states this season. The aforementioned opener at OCR will precede the series' first visit to Carolina Motorsports Park's new asphalt oval on June 25-27. The tour's traditional stop at southwest New York's Chapel Hill Raceway will go off July 16-18, followed by the race at New Castle (Ind.) Motorsports Park on Aug. 20-22. The 2010 season will conclude with the series' annual Grand National at Wampum, Pa.'s BeaveRun Motorsports Complex Sept. 24-26.
WKA is proud to have Vega on board for the 2010 Speedway Pavement tour and thanks the people at Vega Tire and TS Racing for their continued support. WKA would also like to take a final opportunity to thank Rage Karts and praise the champ-kart chassis manufacturer for their years of support as the title sponsor for the Speedway Pavement Series.

AKS RaceFab to give away body at each Dirt National
02.09.2010 -- Keeping the momentum rolling on the Briggs & Stratton Speedway Dirt Series following a most successful Dirt World Championships at Daytona, World Karting officials are proud to announce that south-central Pennsylvania-based AKS RaceFab, returning in its fourth year as a Dirt Series sponsor, will add to the fortunes of one lucky competitor at each of the remaining four Speedway Dirt events in 2010.
As the series heads to Hurricane Raceway in Alma, Georgia, April 9-11 for the Bordeaux Dyno Cams Nationals, AKS RaceFab owner Shawn Lyter will give a body away to a competitor in the Briggs Medium class. The number will be drawn following the Briggs Medium event on Sunday, which is the first main event of that day's activities. Whoever finishes in the position of the number that is drawn will be the winner. Since Shawn's daughter Amber Reisinger runs in this class and would be eligible for the prize, should her number be drawn, another number would then be drawn.
Starting the business as Al's Kart Supply in 2002, Shawn expanded the company into fiberglass and body works in 2006. He's been an active sponsor on the Speedway Dirt Series since 2007. Shawn also serves as chairman of the Speedway Dirt Series Competition Committee.
